Boston PainCare Center provides an interdisciplinary team of medical specialists comprised of the following medical specialties / disciplines:
Assessment
Patient Liaison: – For new patient orientation
QPPM specialist: – To establish baseline measurement
Physical Therapist: - To assess function
Neurologist: For specialized neurological assessment, including sleep assessment
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician: – To assess patient pain and function levels
Interventional Pain Specialist: - To provide interventional assessment
Physician Assistant: - To assess clinical history and current pain conditions, orders diagnostic tests, and coordinates with physician staff on interdisciplinary care programs
Nursing: - To provide patient counseling and support
Patient Care Coordinator: - Coordinates patient support services including scheduling, medication authorizations, and patient pain condition education questions
Therapies:
Interventional Pain Specialist – To provide minimally invasive pain procedures
Behavioral Health Specialist: - To provide cognitive and other behavioral health therapies
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician: – To provide minor procedures such as trigger point therapies, along with medication management programs
Physical Therapist: - To develop and implement functional restoration pain condition programs
Neurologist: - To provide neurological, migraine and sleep therapies, including medication management programs
Neurosurgeon: - To perform minimally invasive spine and other extremity procedures
Rheumatologist: - To coordinate arthritic pain conditions, including medication management, functional restoration, and behavioral education programs
Nursing Staff: - to provide patient counseling and support
Patient Financial Counselor: - To coordinate patient support services for financial management issues
Patient Care Coordinator: - Coordinates patient support services including scheduling, medication authorizations, and patient pain condition education questions
Physician Assistant: - To provide patient care services for complex pain conditions including medication management coordination, and durable medical equipment
Management:
Interventional Pain Specialist – Reviews patient progress on quarterly basis, orders medications and therapies as necessary
Behavioral Health Specialist: - Prepares outcomes measurement reports, counsels patient on ongoing pain condition lifestyle needs/modifications
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician: – Provides medication management services for patients with musculoskeletal pain conditions, assessing on-going need for home or PainCare center functional rehabilitation therapies
Physical Therapist: - Coordinates patient care with neurologist, PM&R physician, pain specialist for functional rehabilitation program patient care needs
Neurologist: -Coordinates medication management program for neuropathic, migraine and sleep disorder patient pain conditions
Neurosurgeon: - Semi-annual patient review of progress/regression of patient’s pain condition
Rheumatologist: - Coordinates medication management and functional rehabilitation program for arthritic pain conditions
Nursing Staff: - to provide patient counseling and support
Patient Financial Counselor: - To coordinate patient support services for financial management issues
Patient Care Coordinator: - Coordinates patient support services including scheduling, medication authorizations, and patient pain condition education questions
