Dr. Zahid Bajwa was invited to speak at the HMS Continuing Education Pain Medicine Conference — Evaluating and Treating Pain — at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on June 25th and 26th. Dr. Bajwa was a moderator and presenter. His presentations included: “Neurologic Evaluation of the Patient in Pain”, “Diagnosis and Treatment of Headache”, “Nerve Blocks, Botulinum Toxin, and Anatomy of Craniofacial Pain”, and “Mechanism-Based Treatment of Neuropathic Pain”.
Evaluating and Treating Pain is a live course held each spring in Boston. It provides a comprehensive review and update of the basic science and advances in the field of pain medicine. The faculty includes specialists in many aspects of pain medicine including anesthesiology, neurology, psychiatry and psychology, internal medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, interventional radiology and neurosurgery. Participants learn how to diagnose common pain problems and explore various options for treatment of chronic pain, acute pain and cancer-related pain.

Dr. Bajwa is recognized nationally as one of the leading pain and headache specialists in the United States and joins the staff at Boston PainCare after a distinguished 18 year career at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as an attending physician in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Dr. Bajwa has served at the Harvard Medical School as an instructor, assistant professor, and most recently as associate professor.
