Patient Education

Patient education is an important responsibility for any disease, but it’s especially helpful for pain management. When you know what your body is going through, you can better focus on the things that can improve your quality of life. Because knowledge is a powerful means of support, we want you and your family to be armed with the most relevant information on wellness, coping, and pain management.

On your first visit to Boston PainCare, our highly trained professionals will perform a comprehensive assessment. You’ll meet with our physical performance medicine specialist who will use high-tech measurement tools to test your level of strength and range of motion. With this kind of technology, we’ll be able to track your progress as you undergo therapies. And you’ll be able to put hard numbers to your pain levels and functionality improvements—something you’ll rarely find at other pain management programs.

We understand that living with chronic pain can be a daily challenge. The last thing you need is frustration with your care providers about scheduling or communication. From the moment you step into our office or hear our voice over the telephone, we will do our best to help you with your needs and requests. Feel free to let us know how we can make your experience better. That’s what we’re here for.

Need to Relax?

Stress, worries, negative thoughts can make your chronic pain worse!

Negative thoughts, stress, worry, and muscle tension contribute to the severity of chronic pain. Relaxation and stress management techniques can help individuals gain more control over their body and thoughts as well as improve coping with pain. Examples of relaxation and stress management include deep breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery.

Below are some online resources to help you relax.
